What a novel concept truth. 2 Reply Karl Marx, franklin , Pa. 7/30/08 re: Paul Harvey quote Once again define milita? if I must be in a militia to have the right to keep and bear arms, then why don't National Guard troops take their weapons home with them? If I have to be in a militia, then how can the militia be the National Guard? The Nation had not been formed yet! If I have to be in a militai to bear arms and my state bans militia's , then this right is being denied me by the state. Unless of course being in the militia is not a precursor to the right to bear arms, which makes that whole argument moot. So what is the next argument as to why I can not bear arms? If I was in Iraq I am allowed to mown an AK-47 fully automatic assualt rifle, oh but there is a war there right? Have you been to parts of this country? Some of the inner cities, ask the cops they will tell you it is a war their also! I think Philly and Parts of Jersey qualify as war zones! 1 Reply Karl Marx, Franklin , Pa. 7/30/08 re: James Burgh quote The IRS , the Cops, the FBI , Judges and everyone who works for the government serve the people, and we the citizens of this country our the people! People and governments in power tend to lose site of this, then it becomes them verse the people because they have power and they are afraid to lose their power. This power that is given to them by the people corrupts them, so they view the common folk as the enemy. it takes a strong person to be in charge and not be corrupted, unfortunatley our education system fails us ( by design) so those in power are doomed to fail us ( the people). Thus wecan now say that society has been divided into two groups, the haves and the have nots. Those that have the power refuse to relanqiush such power. They kep themselves in power by passing laws to make it difficult for the comman man to achieve or rise above his surrondings. Remember if the comman man was to rise above his surrondings this creates compatition for those in power, this is what they do not want. Look at what happens to corrupt judges, cops federal agents etc. They are given a light sentence or none at all for crimes they commit, then compare this to the comman man, how does time for a marijuana conviction. The courts like society are skewered towards the haves, look at the criminal justice system and the corruption over the years. They say this because we are supposed to be a beakon of freedom for everyone yet we are not. Some even openly mock and ridicule the US. Why? look no further then our oppressive government. Both Waffler and Logan make extremly valid points, the problem is to construct a bridge between their two points. We as citizens have been and are being sold out by our politicians and business's all in the name of corporate and governmental greed. we as a soceity can regulate and tax everything but good judgement and common sence. 2Reply Karl Marx, Franklin , Pa. 7/16/08 re: Ayn Rand quote Ayn is right, but socialism does have good virtues. The problem is that neither capitalism nor Socialism have lived upto their individual billing. What we need to do is bridge the gap between the two and find a fair compromise. One were individuals and business can coexist with out the exploitation of the working class. With capitalism you exploit the workers and seperate them among differnent strata, socialism does this also but not as bad, yet you do not have the individual freedoms that you have in a capitalistic society,..at least prior to 9/11. Reply Karl Marx, Franklin , Pa. 6/26/08 re: Clarence Thomas quote We have quotas because of the racist business owners and managers who make more out of the color of skin rather then a person's intelligence. As long as there are racists, there will be unfortunately quotas. But never the less a great but idealistic quote. true, but will not work... unfortunately. 1 Reply Karl Marx, Franklin , Pa. 6/18/08 re: Sidney Hook quote What an appropriate quote! unlike the rest of the robots, I can see the wrongs being perpetrated on the people of this country, in the name of freedom and the war on terror. Fat Americans need to put the feed tray down, walk away from their TV's and use their brains... but that requires effort. Sorry. 2 Reply Karl Marx, Franklin , Pa. 6/18/08 re: George W. Bush quote A great and moving quote from someone who dodged the war in Vietnam! Not only that but he stole the quote and modified it! So I must be with the terrorists? because I am against his Fascist government? How about this quote" either your in a recession or your not! " Either your a great president or your not"! Either you screwed up the economy or you did not" ! F@@k ing idiot! In conclusion , one man's terrorists is another man's freedom fighter! Thomas Paine would have been labelled a terrorist, as well as the rest of the founding fathers! SaveOk2 Share on Facebook Tweet Email Print
