And I will defend your right to believe anything you wish...for we are blessed with a 1st Amendment. 1 Reply aa, hb 4/14/10 re: Mark Twain quote Well, there is an organization working on this right now, called GOOOH if you want to look them up. They do not care your party affiliation, just that you be willing to support the Constitution, Liberty, stay your 1-2 terms and be happy to leave...this is a push for citizens to become the people in government. Reply aa, hb 4/14/10 re: Lord Acton quote This was my email 'signature' for many years. Perhaps it should become so again. sigh* there are so many who are so blind...we must stand and challenge these corrupt people...for if we vote for them repeatedly it is we who are fools. 3 Reply aa, hb 4/13/10 re: John A. Hobson quote bravo, Mike. Reply aa, hb 4/12/10 re: Nazi slogan quote I noticed there was only one intelligent remark on this entire list of comments. I find that disturbing. 2 Reply aa, hb 4/11/10 re: Justice Charles Evans Hughes quote If we are asleep at the wheel, (and folks, we have been dozing for nearly a hundred years; for several generations,) and others remove our rights during our sleep because no one is on watch, then freedom as a right is forcibly, subversly, or subliminally removed and demoted to a privilege by those wielding the power of office and control of media. Unless the sleeping giant stands up and confronts those who were meddling during the long nap, there will be no one to defend the inalienable rights. Listen to Griffen's interview with Dodd, 1982. It is an example of how long this country has been snoozing. 1 Reply aa, hb 4/7/10 re: C. S. Lewis quote If all is running well, one might not remember to change the oil, and put on the new brake pads, and in so doing the car can be greatly damaged, maybe even require an engine overhaul. I think we need an overhaul or replacement as this one is certainly broken. 2 Reply aa, hb 3/31/10 re: John Wayne quote I am delighted he did! Thanks E 1 Reply aa, hb 3/30/10 re: Archibald MacLeish quote Tho slavery was abolished, people have just been shackled...only this time it is not just the unfortunate few, but rather the entire country, and it will include the offspring of those long dead who were so happy to at be 'free at last'. Anonymous, you had a choice regarding your insurance. Had you preferred, you could have told your employers you would rather have the insurance premium amount added to your pay and not had insurance. That is a free market system. Your were free to buy or not... Reply aa, hb 3/27/10 re: John Locke quote It probably matters little to most of you, but "Separation of church and state is not in the Constitution (some ratifying states had official religions)." Kevin RC Gutzman, JD., Ph..D pages 175, 176 The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Constitution. It really rests with Justice Hugo Black, a member of the KKK. History is a very interesting subject. It is amazing just how hearing something over and over, even if it is incorrect, soon becomes "fact". Reply aa, hb 3/25/10 re: C. P. Snow quote I am devestated that a country that cannot properly manage social security, medicare, the post office, has now decided it knows how to take on all of health care at a time when our country is trillions in the hole and completely indebted to China plus others. I am devestated that I just witnessed my country move from a republic based upon law and self responsibility, self reliability and self sufficiency to one of Marxism. I am devestated that my grandkids, any one who needed in any state, could have had the CHIP-government health care- will now live in a country that has been dumbed down to a minimal 4th grade level, and that we have a population that has no ability to do math and therefore believe that placing 325million people on a health care program will save the country money. Like has been said by wiser people than this old woman, people get the government they deserve. We have a country of dumbed down, uneducated people now and the last 50 years proves it. I am just wondering if I can now convince my neighbors that I need a car. Maybe they will buy that for me so I can get around better...and the fuel to keep it going. I want it, it is hard for me to have it, so why can't the government now make it a priority that this product be paid for by all as well. Yep, I just love other people making decisions for me. I believe we will see the wickedness begin as this country has never witnesses since the Indian wars. Reply aa, hb 3/20/10 re: William Ellery Channing quote Right now it appears the to be the end...just read the plan...worrisome. A tv program on China was just viewed and when the children were interviewed at their English class the interviewer asked why they were learning English and she said because they would own America in her lifetime and her gov said it would be good to know. Liberty...is in us, but will it be a right in 3 days? 2 Reply aa, hb 3/17/10 re: Samuel Smiles quote According to Kevin RC Gutzman, JD., Ph.D in his book, "Separation of church and state is not in the Constitution (some ratifying states had official religions)." See page 175 and 176. His book is called the Politically Incorrect Guide to the Constitution. In chapter 10, he states "Guess what? The states have the right to establish religions." So there was no separation of church and state without the help of Justice Hugo L Black. Please read it, it is very interesting to see how this all came about. It is lovely. Sadly we have a government that is driving a DC Catpillar over the very documents that give us our freedom, our liberty, and any hope for love, unity.... Reply aa, hb 3/5/10 re: George Washington quote But where are they? Are the 'free and brave people' sent to other lands so they cannot aid our very own freedom? Are we left here with just our old women and weak men to have our liberty removed in the absence of our courageous and honorable men? Are there any uncorrupt men left who would be free? There are so many of us demanding we lose not a single liberty more but 5 people more who stand for nothing. Where are those who would be among the brave and free? I think we would fit on Long Island...for all the others are drones, already enslaved. Where are those "uncorrupted choices of the free and brave"? That is the question I ask today.
