I shall find scholars later to demonstrate my perfect right.” ~ Frederick the Great (1712-1786) King of Prussia, Frederick II Despotism , Education , Executive Orders , History , Politics , Power , Press , Propaganda , Psycho-politics , Tyranny Ratings and Comments 2 Reply Michael, Houston, TX 6/23/06 Wow! What an attitude. That sounds a lot like "Because I could!" Maybe its just me. We have come a long way from having patriots and statesmen in service of our country. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 6/23/06 3 Reply Logan, Memphis, TN 6/23/06 I give 5 stars for the shear honesty and perception of a madman who recognizes the stupidity and ill-placed trust of people in scholastic "professionals". History will remember the most evil despot in the most holy light, when he finds the scholars to justify his actions. 2 Reply E Archer, NYC 6/23/06 Whether I agree or not, those in seats of power today do exactly the same thing -- and many of us believe such lies now. 3 Reply Ken, Allyn, WA 6/23/06 It is easy to find willing "scholars" to lie for the powerful. All one has to do is buy them. Never take the experts' word at face value. Always use your own eyes and common sense to see the truth. The anthropogenic global warming myth is probably the biggest example today of bought and paid for science, scientists, and other assorted experts. 2 Reply Byron, Fort Collins, CO 4/7/11 The older I get the more I realize how much of history must have been fabricated by scribes under tyrants' employ. The only people I trust are those who "go about (their) business and sleep well at night", like the lamplighter in Antoine de Saint-Exupery's _The Little Prince_ (Katharine Woods translation and no other!). 3 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 4/7/11 The Lincoln version of the history of the Civil War was written on much the same basis. Another good example would be Pelosi's "We have to pass it to see what's in it" rationale. Complete and utter BS. Reply Johann Hollar, St. Paul 4/7/11 Brilliant words from the father of the modern military. 2 Reply GunnyCee, Durham 4/7/11 How true! Notice how the industrial governments were able to buy scientists to go along with the global warming lie? Countries are actually buying and selling carbon credits in Europe and here. This is the biggest scam ever perpetrated on the world. Reply GunnyCee, Durham 4/7/11 J Carlton's response seems to be disjointed. What does the history of Lincoln have to do with Nancy Pelosi's idiotic statement? Carlton seems think that the hundreds of books on the history of Lincoln were all written by people who were being paid to slant it a certain way. The more I think of it, Carlton and Pelosi are very similar in their thinking. 2 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 4/7/11 Gunny, its a reference to the justifying the means after the fact. I see a connection between the way the history of the civil war was written to justify northern aggression, as well as Pelosi and her bizarre comment about health care...to the quote above. Its a kind of thinking that hopes its real reasons are never discovered.( I'm not getting this said very well ) 3Reply Waffler, Smith 4/9/11 Carlton needs to read history a lot closer. Dear J it was South Carolina that fired upon Fort Sumter, can you dig it? As far as the quote, it is lonely at the top. Sometimes decisions have to be made without getting the approval of every single human being. While Frederick's construction is a little bit crude and hard to swallow it goes along with the first rule of management, "Keep making decisons until they stop you"! Hopefully they will be wise and prudent decisons like those made my our current President. 2 Reply C A Butler, Bangor, Maine 6/7/11 Waffler, Smith It was Yankee acts of aggression that led to the only thing you remember of that war and that being that you had right because you had might and there is no other discussion but the shots fired from Sumpter. I imagine you forget Lincolns words of "I know what I do is wrong, in talking about the war between the states, but I feel the Union is more important." forgetting the most important part and that the line should have ended ..."more important than the constitution that gives the Union its power and that power from the people." 1 Reply Patrick Henry, Red Hill 7/6/16 The perfection, perhaps, of the corruption of pragmatism, and of power. Reply Mike, Norwalk 7/6/16 What comes to mind is it is easier to ask for forgiveness than to get permission. The occupying statist theocracy infesting this land kills, destroys, commits gross criminal acts and then they find FBI scholars to demonstrate and explain the perfect right to do so.
