A statue should be erected to the unknown tax evader.” ~ Pierre Lemieux In Praise of the Unknown Tax Evader, NATIONAL POST, February 27, 2002 Dissent , Economics , Humor , Resistance , Taxation Ratings and Comments 1 Reply Mike, Norwalk 9/6/10 With certain governmental departments, they spend all they get so as to get an equal to or greater allocation the following fiscal period. Expenditures today are only driven by the statist theocracy's unquenchable thirst for socialistic depravities. Tax evasion only represents a net benefit to everybody when the tax is contrary to the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God (inclusive of all natural fiscal law) and infringes on the inalienable rights of the individual (by way of example theft on the noble laborers fruit - justified through vain claimed statute). Some taxes are lawful and constitutional. A statue should be erected to the unknown tax evader of unlawful taxes. Reply cal, lewisville, tx 9/6/10 We must always resist our government or it will only grow and continue to take more and more from us. Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 9/6/10 We send it and they spend it. Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 9/6/10 And send more and they spend more. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 9/6/10 Reply Anonymous, colorado springs 9/6/10 LOVE this quote and the idea behind it. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 9/6/10 I've met Pierre, he's an interesting man for sure. His latest challenge was when he refused to list his ex wife on his gun license renewal form in Canada. He says "what does my love life have to do with my gun rights?" And he was as usual, quite correct. Reply Elizabeth, Astoria, NY 9/6/10 That's funny. But we know some (just some), is always necessary. 1 Reply E Archer, NYC 9/6/10 Funny! The only lawful federal taxes are excise taxes on foreign goods. States and counties may tax some sales, but it is a corruption of The Law to tax property that people already own or to tax the labors of the people -- to tax the labors of the people is to make slaves of them, to yoke them, to suck their blood, to make them beasts of burden. The statue erected should be of those that have refused to pay what they do not owe. Instead maybe we should just start hanging those trying to collect taxes on people's labor or property for they presume too much. Reply RBESRQ 9/6/10 Archer, you beat me to it! FUNNY!!! Reply dick, Fort Worth 9/6/10 What incredible rot. Reply Nick 9/6/10 Taxation is theft Reply Waffler, Smith 9/6/10 Revenues don't matter. They spend any way. This guy obviously never heard of deficit spending. It is true of course that most people spend or invest it and lose very dime they get. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 9/6/10 Actually it is "deficit spending" that he based the quote on...he understands it for "what it really is". Theft of the wealth of generations of future "taxpayers". (slaves) 1Reply Waffler, Smith 9/6/10 You are right J. We don't pay enough and we are stiffing our kids and grandkids. But you twist his silly quote. He said "revenue drives spending" so the assumption is that if we would cut taxes we would cut spending. Well Bush cut taxes fought a war and never paid for. The cuts were temporary and now that they are due to expire we are accused of raising taxes. The old axiom applies give some body and inch and they take a mile, the conservatives want to claim a permanent right to a temporary (and ill conceived) tax cut which put our nation in jeopardy. 1 Reply E Archer, NYC 9/7/10 Holy cow, Waffler, what a bunch of twisted crap. You tell J he's right, then say the opposite. 'Deficit spending' is creating money, 'borrowing' it at interest, then spending it into circulation (of course, it is actually paid to government employees and contractors) to make its way into the economy. It is DEBT, like a credit card with no limit -- just keep paying the interest, though. And yes, once there is revenue, it gets spent! (Lord knows, we are unable to save anything...) Yes, Bush certainly spent a LOT on the war in Iraq -- but Obama has already out spent him 4 to 1. Talk about being given an inch and taking a mile!! Hey, when my Visa card gets too loaded up, there is only ONE thing to do -- STOP SPENDING and PAY IT OFF! What kind of accountant were you, Waffler? 1 Reply Publius, America 9/8/10 Hey Waffler, the Bush tax cuts encouraged people to buy more and to invest more. Each time they bought something they payed more taxes. Each time they made money on their investments they paid more taxes. It's called a "tax multiplier" where you lower the taxes and encourage consumer spending. That's economics 101. In the end, the government brought in more money with the Bush tax cuts than it did without them. Reply Ronw13, OR 4/9/19 Tax cuts and deregulation have spurred the economy once again, only this time around, wages are on the climb due to the need for skilled labor labor across the board. Merit based immigration, slowing or stopping all together illegal influx of migrants. Period. Reply Ronw13, OR 4/9/19 WWG1WGA to MAGA to KAG SaveOk2 SaveOk2 View CommentsClick to view or comment.
