Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/25/06 re: Eric Schaub quote The first half is both too glib and too subject to interpretation (what is "life" and what is "a gift", who is the "giver", etc). The second half is a basic truth. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/23/06 re: Jesus of Nazareth quote Good words, even if they are not always 100% accurate... and just because the converse is not true does not make this quote either always false or unworthy. It is worth noting that these are the words of man about men, that they appear in a book assembled by men from the writings of men and assigned by men as being "from God" does not make that statement of assignment true, nor does it bring any more power to the quote. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/23/06 re: Hillel quote Basicly a statement of the "Golden rule", which is back asswards... one should not assume that others live by the same measure of what they want as you do for yourself... so better is to "do unto others as they would have you do unto them"... i.e. treat people like they want to be treated. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/23/06 re: Dr. Thomas Fuller quote The quote is not only a "basic truth", but also worth stating, since so many people do not live by it and yet tell others that their belief system is the one and only path to follow (while they flaunt not following it). 2 Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/21/06 re: Saint Thomas Aquinas quote It is one thing to "know" these things... and it is another to actually believe them, desire just them, and to actually do them. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/21/06 re: Pierre Corneille quote Very zen... do what you can, and let go of that which you can not affect... Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/21/06 re: Daniel Webster quote Right on Robert & EGL. I do give this one as I do agree that to have liberty one must guard and defend it... which is to say that one should not start wars with innocent bystanders (even if they are bullies) while ignoring the bully who is taunting you... 2 Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/20/06 re: Tecumseh quote Right on E! Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/15/06 re: Spiro Agnew quote ... to say nothing of King George's policy of production of "pseudo-news" for broadcast as if it were something other than pure propaganda lies! Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/15/06 re: Spiro Agnew quote Note how King George has put in place policies which allow for the continued concentration of the US's fourth estate of government into the hands of a few who think the same as he... Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/15/06 re: Joseph Paul Goebbels quote The more I read these quotes from Nazis, the more I am reminded of King George & His Hench Men (hum, could be a good band name, eh? ;-). Personally, I've always found that products of public schools are much more likely to be thinkers than those of religious schooling &/or home schooling. 1 Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/15/06 re: Albert Einstein quote There is no such thing as "making atheism the default establishment of religion", nothing prevents the study of religion in public schools (e.g. comparitive religion studies, etc). It is the preaching of pure belief systems as "the one true answer" (as is done in many so called "religious education" classes which are really "religious indoctrination" classes... been there, had that done to me, rejected it due to the power of an inquiring mind and non-sheep-like behavior ;-) which is prohibited, very different. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/15/06 re: Hermann Goering quote Reads like King George... Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/15/06 re: Gordon Tullock quote It never fails to amaze me how people are so willing to sell their very souls to the devil who sells them on what a patriot they are... 54Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/15/06 re: Vladimir Ilyich Lenin quote Heck... the capitalists have sold King George the rope with which he is hanging us all... give me a Commie any day over a traitor fool like King George... better the devil you know than the "friend" who stabs you in your back while kissing your baby. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/12/06 re: Aesop quote 'taint "the gods" in this case... and sometimes we do need a little external help in addition to our own efforts... yet, the core rings true. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/12/06 re: Eric Hoffer quote There is much understanding of much of today's middle America to be had from these words... while not so much a "great quotable quote", it is a tremendous insight which is succinctly put, and thus deserves the full five. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/12/06 re: Zecharian Chafee, Jr. quote Right you are Robert (having just described King George's governing principles). Can I give this one an 8? 2 Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/11/06 re: Harry S. Truman quote Must be one of King George's sources of blueprints on governing... Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/11/06 re: Ambrose Bierce quote ... and its not even humorous, to say nothing of completely inaccurate. Would that I could give it a negitive 5 stars... 13Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/9/06 re: Thomas Jefferson quote We are all interdependant upon all the rest of us (and that includes all living beings, not just humans). 1Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/9/06 re: John Milton quote Very dated language, which in today's language could mean something very different... hum, just like the stories in the "holy books" are best interpreted as just that, stories, not records of history! Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/9/06 re: Edmund Burke quote Jack's got it right again. All people should be provided with a guarenteed minimum level of health care, food and housing. Beyond that it is best a capitalist environment, but one where the robber baron is guarded against. This is not socialism, but rather just pure simple human kindness and common sense. King George and his power brokers have failed on both of these points. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/7/06 re: Manley P. Hall quote Seems that this quote does much to illustrate the truth and validity of the last quote... Previous 25 Next 25 SaveOk2 Share on Facebook Tweet Email Print
