Williams is one of the most sensible people on earth. He is not saying all are bad, he is saying we have allowed "expertise" and and the mere fact of having a degree to overide common sense. We have been told so often that to be judgemental is bad, to the point we have lost the desire and ability to show good judgement in the face of idiocy. We just accept foolish ideas, particular from those who have degrees, rgardless of their foolishness.

Being a victim or beneficiary of the welfare state is not being free. I would rather live in a mud hut then take unearned money extracted at the point of a gun by the government. Pity so many have lost this true love of freedom.

You cannot preserve freedom, morals or ethics if you are dead. Sometimes when you fight a bastard you must be a bastard, that is the hell of war. The atom bomb may seem arbitrarily immoral, but both in the long and short term it was best for both sides.

We must ensure the freedom of others even when it appears difficult, such as in Iraq, Afganistan, etc. If we do not we will alow the festering holes of facism to develope and the will come for us again. There is no worship of conformity or non-conformity, actions should be rationally decided on with the understanding of the benefits and consequencies. If there is always a government safety net, or a union trying to preserve an obsolete job, that is not freedom.
