Yes. Thank you, Thomas Jefferson. Unfortunately, the government still seems to think it's okay to endorse theism when it's obviously unconstitutional.

It is possible to be moral without believing in God. There are some nonbelievers who are more moral than some believers, as there are some believers who are more moral than some nonbelievers.

Hmm, "evildoers"... sounds like propaganda to me.

It's not enough to provide free health care... for there to be any point to socialized medicine, the health care provided has to be of high quality.

Taxes may not be fun, but they're necessary to keep society running, and to improve it as well. To avoid paying taxes when you are perfectly capable to do so, I think, is selfish and unpatriotic, and certainly not intellectual.

Mr. Ford, you would keep people ignorant for your own self gain?

You're all misunderstanding this quote by pulling it out of the context of Ibsen's play. It isn't about literally being alone; it's about overcoming the falsehoods of the majority and standing for what is right regardless of what society thinks. Another famous quote from this play: "The majority never has right on its side." The "strongest man" quote must be considered with this in mind to be fully understood.

This is true. Not right, but true.

Ugh, Rockefeller was a disturbingly corrupt man.

How can we ever improve and advance ourselves if we don't criticize and question our government?

Right on, Gandhi! Peace out!

I prefer fair trade to free trade... what good is having domestic environmental and moral standards when you can just outsource your company and continue to pollute and abuse workers shamelessly without suffering the consequences?

Unfortunately, too often people advance themselves by crushing others. The question is, what kind of advancement is that?

I don't think the idea of socialism is evil in itself. The main problem with it is that it corrupts too easily.

Nice sentiment, Socrates.

It's funny because it's true... sad.

And you don't make the poor richer by forcing them and their posterity to stay in society's basement all their lives, either. Trickle down economics historically haven't worked well, or if so only temporarily, while some of the best reforms made to this country have been, well, baby socialism. I'm by no means a socialist, but that doesn't mean I think all socialistic things are evil.

Gotta love Leno.

This is so not true... what about Gandhi, and his fellow Indians?

Anonymous

Yes, it is INDEED regrettable, KING Andrew.

Personally, I agree with this quote 100%, and I think gun use should be limited, strictly monitored, and anti-gun legislation should be enforced. I respect the opinions of those who disagree with me. And I'm not a communist or a socialist.
